Marrrakech
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Begin your adventure with a guided tour of Marrakech. Visit the famous Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia Mosque, bustling souks, palaces, and museums. Discover modern areas such as Gueliz, and enjoy the serene beauty of Menara and Majorelle Gardens.
Travel through the breathtaking Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n Tichka pass to reach the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, known for its appearances in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Continue to Ouarzazate to visit Atlas Film Studios and a local kasbah. Pass through the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual festival, and drive to Dades Gorge, where you will spend the night in a comfortable hotel or riad.
Visit the stunning Todra Gorge, a narrow canyon popular with nature lovers. Continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, an oasis town known for its unique fossils. Stop at a local factory producing handcrafted fossil items and souvenirs. Then, drive to Rissani to explore the local souk before heading to Merzouga for an overnight stay in a local riad or hotel.
Spend the day exploring the Merzouga Desert. Options include camel trekking or 4×4 excursions to discover the dunes and nearby Khamlia village, known for its traditional music. As the sun sets behind the Sahara dunes, embark on a camel ride to the desert camp. Spend the night in Berbere tents and enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars with tribal music around the campfire.
Wake early to catch the sunrise over the dunes and ride back by camel to your hotel for breakfast. Depart Merzouga, passing Rissani and Erfoud, and stop for lunch in Midelt in the Atlas Mountains. Continue to Fes, where you will spend the night at a local riad or hotel.
Explore the cultural and historical treasures of Fes, Morocco’s spiritual capital. Visit the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter, Al Qaraouine University, tanneries, and the Mulay Idriss mausoleum. Spend the afternoon wandering through the medina and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Fes at a traditional riad or hotel.
Discover the three sections of Fes: Fes el Bali (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Fes-Jdid with its Jewish quarter, and Ville Nouvelle, the French-built new town. Later, drive to Rabat for a short visit before continuing to Casablanca for an overnight stay.
Explore Casablanca’s main attractions, including the Hassan II Mosque. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Marrakech to conclude your 8-day Morocco tour.
