Marrrakech
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Your private tour begins with a hotel pickup in Casablanca. Explore the city’s main cultural landmarks before driving to Fes, where you will spend the night in a riad or hotel.
Discover Fes, Morocco’s oldest city, by wandering its narrow alleys and streets. Visit the Royal Palace gate, the first Mellah (Jewish quarter), and sites of cultural and historical interest including Al Qaraouine University. Explore the tanneries, Attarine Museum, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. In the afternoon, visit local cooperatives and enjoy panoramic views of the Fes medina. Overnight at a local riad or hotel.
Depart Fes after breakfast and drive through the Mid-Atlas region, passing Ifrane, known as “Switzerland of Morocco.” Stop in the cedar forests of Azrou to see and feed the Berber apes. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then drive along the Ziz River and Ziz Valley to Erfoud and Rissani to explore the local souk. Arrive in Merzouga in the evening for overnight at a local hotel.
After breakfast, head out in 4×4 vehicles to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes. Visit the Khamlia “black village” and enjoy Gnawan music, followed by a traditional Berber pizza lunch in Rissani. In the afternoon, ride camels into the desert and watch the sunset behind the dunes. Overnight at a desert camp with traditional tagine dinner, mint tea, and Berber music under the stars.
Start early to catch the sunrise in the desert, then return by camel to the village. Drive to Tinghir to visit Todra Gorge, Morocco’s highest and narrowest gorge, and enjoy a short hike. Continue to Dades Gorge to see unique rock formations known as “monkey toes” and other geological features. Overnight at a local hotel or riad in Dades Gorge.
Drive through the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” and stop at Kalaat Mgouna in the Valley of Roses for lunch. Visit the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to Marrakech, where you will spend the night at a local riad or hotel.
Explore Marrakech with a local guide, visiting Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia Mosque, palaces, museums, and the bustling souks. Discover parts of the city such as Gueliz, Menara Gardens, and Majorelle Garden. Overnight at a riad or hotel in Marrakech.
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a final stroll through Marrakech and a local lunch before being transferred to your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your Morocco tour.
