Next, drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to explore historic sites such as the Hassan Tower and Oudayas Kasbah. After a day of sightseeing, check into your hotel in Rabat to relax and prepare for the exciting days ahead.
After breakfast, depart for Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, a scenic drive of around four hours passing rolling hills and charming villages. Upon arrival, check into your hotel or riad and explore the city’s famous blue-painted streets.
Wander through the medina, browse local souks, or enjoy Moroccan cuisine at a cafe. Chefchaouen’s unique blue streets and vibrant culture make it a photographer’s paradise and an unforgettable stop on your journey.
Start your day with a scenic drive through the Rif villages before reaching Volubilis, the ancient Roman city renowned for its mosaics and well-preserved ruins dating back to the 3rd century.
Continue to Meknes, a historic imperial city, where you will explore the Bab el Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After lunch, travel to Fes, check into your riad, and prepare for a full day of cultural exploration.
Today, enjoy a guided tour of Fes, one of Morocco’s most important imperial cities. Visit the Royal Palace gate and explore the medieval Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Key highlights include Al-Qarawiyyin University, Al-Attarine Madrasa, Nejjarine fountain, and Chouara Tanneries.
Continue to the Jewish quarter (Mellah) and finish the day with panoramic views of Fes from an ancient fortress. Experience the city’s rich history, architecture, and culture with the guidance of an expert local guide.
After breakfast, journey south toward the Sahara Desert. Stop in Ifrane for a break, then explore a cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, home to Barbary apes. Enjoy lunch along the way and continue to the Ziz Valley, a lush oasis lined with palm trees.
Arrive in Merzouga and embark on a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset over the golden sand and arrive at your desert camp, where a delicious dinner and a night under the stars await, complete with Berber music and optional drum lessons.
Wake early to witness sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you can ride a camel or 4×4 vehicle to Merzouga before continuing to Dades Gorge. Explore the traditional market in Rissani (on market days: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) and walk through Todra Gorge, admiring the towering cliffs.
Drive along Dades Valley and marvel at the unique rock formations resembling monkey fingers before arriving at your hotel for an overnight stay.
On the final day, drive to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and optionally visit Atlas Studios to see famous movie sets. Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, exploring its historic architecture and cinematic history.
After lunch, journey across the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the scenic landscapes before arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 7-day Morocco adventure.
