Itinerary

Day 1Fes Ifrane Ziz Valley Merzouga Desert

Your 5-day adventure begins with hotel or riad pickup in Fes. We head toward the desert with stops in Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” and the cedar forest near Azrou, home to Barbary monkeys. The journey continues through the stunning Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga in the afternoon.

Upon arrival, enjoy a camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes to witness a spectacular sunset. At the luxury desert camp, you will be welcomed with tea and settle into your private tent. Dinner is served, followed by an evening around the campfire, enjoying Berber music under the starry Sahara sky.

Day 2Merzouga Desert Discovery

Early risers can enjoy a mesmerizing desert sunrise. After breakfast, explore the Merzouga region, starting with Khamlia village, famous for Gnawa music. We then venture off-road to the abandoned village of M’Fis, known for its Galena mines.

Experience the nomadic lifestyle with a visit to a Berber family near the dunes. After lunch, relax at a nearby riad overlooking the dunes or take a swim. Later, enjoy a sunset stroll across the dunes and the option to extend your desert camp stay for another night.

day 3Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

After breakfast, we depart for Dades Valley with stops at Rissani, Tinghir Oasis, and the Todra Gorge. If it’s market day in Rissani (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), explore the vibrant souk with spices, crafts, and street food. At Todra Canyon, take a walk to admire the towering cliffs.

day 4Dades Valley - Bou Tharar - Kelaat M’Gouna - Skoura - Ouarzazate

Start with breakfast and optional guided hikes in Dades Valley, including Monkey Fingers Canyon. Journey off-road to visit a nomadic Berber family living in a mountain cave near Bou Tharar, experiencing traditional life and hospitality.

Next, visit Kelaat M’Gouna in the Valley of Roses and explore Skoura oasis, including the historic Amridil Kasbah. Continue to Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

day 5 Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains - Telouet Kasbah - Marrakech

After breakfast, explore Ouarzazate, visiting Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Studios. Travel to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, known for appearances in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

After lunch, drive through the High Atlas Mountains with stops at scenic viewpoints and the historic Telouet Kasbah, home of the Glaoui family. Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon for drop-off at your accommodation.
