Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech to High Atlas Mountains to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah to Merzouga Desert

Your 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour begins with a morning pick up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Leave the city behind and travel across the High Atlas Mountains, stopping along the way to admire panoramic views and take memorable photos.

Continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This historic site has appeared in many international films and series such as Prince of Persia Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After visiting the kasbah, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing the journey toward the Sahara.

Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon and check in to a charming desert riad located near the dunes. Enjoy dinner and relax as you prepare for an unforgettable desert experience. Overnight at the riad in Merzouga.

Day 2Full Day Merzouga Desert Exploration

Wake up early to witness a beautiful sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes directly from your riad. After breakfast, begin a full day dedicated to discovering the Merzouga desert. Travel by 4×4 vehicle across the dunes to visit a local Nomadic family, where you will learn about their traditional lifestyle and daily routines through a genuine cultural exchange.

Continue the desert tour with a visit to the abandoned village of Mefis, followed by a stop in Khamlia village to enjoy traditional Gnawa music. If conditions allow, you may also see the seasonal Lake of Birds. After lunch, return to your riad to relax or enjoy some free time before the afternoon adventure.

Later in the day, set off on a camel ride into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset as the sand turns golden and try sandboarding for an added thrill. day 3Merzouga Desert to Agdez to Marrakech

After breakfast at the riad, begin the return journey to Marrakech. Travel through the stunning Draa Valley, the longest valley in Morocco, lined with palm groves and traditional villages. Stop in Agdez to enjoy panoramic views of the valley and take photos.

Continue toward Ouarzazate for lunch before crossing the High Atlas Mountains once again. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where your 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour concludes with drop off at your accommodation.
