Itinerary

Day 1Fes - Ifrane - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

Your 3-day Fes to Marrakech desert adventure starts with a morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes. Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains with a stop in Ifrane, known as the ‘Switzerland of Morocco,’ and visit the cedar forests near Azrou to spot the Barbary macaques.

Lunch is arranged along the route before continuing toward Merzouga, passing the scenic Ziz Valley with its lush palm groves. In the late afternoon, embark on a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes to a luxury desert camp. Stop on a high dune to watch a spectacular sunset. At the camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music, storytelling, and a mesmerizing starry night in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 2Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Early risers can catch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga town by camel or 4×4, then continue your journey toward Boumalne Dades. Along the way, visit Rissani and Erfoud, and explore the Todra Gorge in Tinghir. If your trip falls on Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday, take time to explore the lively Rissani market with local crafts, spices, and street food.

Drive through the Dades Valley, stopping to admire the famous ‘monkey fingers’ rock formations. Arrive at your hotel in Boumalne Dades for dinner and overnight stay.

day 3Dades Valley - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

After breakfast, depart for Marrakech via the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate, passing picturesque Berber villages. Optionally, visit the Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate to see famous film sets or take photos outside.

Continue 15 km to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, featured in films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring the kasbah and enjoying lunch, drive across the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 m), enjoying the stunning panoramic views. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, concluding your 3-day desert adventure.
