You’ll make a stop in Ifrane, a charming town known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its European-style architecture and snow-covered slopes in the winter. Next, you’ll continue to Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques in the cedar forest. Your journey will then take you through the Ziz Valley, where you can see palm groves, kasbahs, and fortified villages. Finally, you’ll arrive in Midelt, a market town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll spend the night.

    Day 2Midelt to Merzouga

On the second day, you’ll travel through the High Atlas Mountains, passing by the Tizi n’Talghoumt Pass and a series of Berber villages. You’ll stop for lunch in Errachidia, a town known for its date palms and citrus trees, before continuing to Erfoud, a city famous for its fossils and marble factories. From there, you’ll head to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, near the village of Merzouga. You’ll have the opportunity to ride a camel through the dunes to your desert camp, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional nomad tent.

After breakfast, you’ll ride your camels back to the village of Merzouga, where you’ll rejoin your driver and head towards the Todra Gorge. Along the way, you’ll see a variety of landscapes, including barren desert, rocky plateaus, and lush oases. You’ll stop for lunch in Tinghir, a town known for its palm groves and mud-brick buildings, before exploring the Todra Gorge, a narrow canyon with towering limestone walls. From there, you’ll continue to the Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a hotel.
